THE SUDAN HILLBILLIES

Welcome to the
SUDAN HILLBILLIES
Home Page

This Web site features the finest Shrine Hillbillies representing the Sudan Shriner's.

1928 Ford "A" Model

The Sudan Hillbillies were formed in 1981 for participation in various Shrine and Civic Functions and to earn funds for the Shriner Hospitals for Children. The Unit appears in approximately 25 - 30 parades each year and is usually one of the best loved and most adored.

The Sudan Hillbillies are made up of Shriners dressed up in traditional Hillbilly garb, including Hillbilly Tuxedos (patched overalls), floppy hats (in 2 sizes, either too large or too small) and other paraphernalia (see if you can find a corn cob). During the parade several members of the Sudan Hillbillies will be walking the parade route and others can be found relaxing on a trailer laden with a outhouse, clothes line and other items related to Hillbilly life. The trailer is towed by an authentic 1928 Model * A * Ford in a run down condition.
